Recycling rates rise

Since achieving ISO14001 environmental certification, we have been inspired to look for even more new ways to reduce our environmental impact.

Headley Brothers are reducing landfill by monitoring waste separation and increasing the types of materials that are recycled. As well as the usual paper and cardboard that is collected for recycling, now plastic, aluminium cans, compact discs and plastic cups, to name but a few, are also recycled.

Eliminating waste at source is at the forefront of our minds when investing in new technology.

In 2011, 97.6% of our solid waste was recycled.

By installing ink pumping in our sheet fed department we have reduced the number of empty ink tins from 28 full IBC’s to just 4. A reduction in weight of 3576 kgs.
