Our well-equipped Finishing Department hosts a number of important services. These include folding, binding, inserting, punching, perforating, packing, labelling, mailing and despatch. This enables us to offer complete service which will allow our clients to enjoy the full benefits of our experience. All these services are essential to a modern publisher and we aim to pass on the quality to you.

FOLDING
A range of six folding machines which together can produce over 100 different folds from printed sheets. Web presses with in-line folding for high speed production - while 8/12 pages A3, 16/24 pages A4 and 32 pages A5 are standard, another 12 folds are possible. Scoring, perforating and numbering facilities.

BINDING
There are two Perfect Binding lines with the capacity to feed 14 and 15 sections plus cover - we can bind up to 240 pages of A4 without pre-inserting. Also 3 Stitching lines, two with nine feeders and one with six feeders plus cover capacity - we can bind up to 144 pages of A4 plus cover this way. Thread Sewing capability - a stronger spine for products with longer shelf-life.

INSERTING
We offer six kinds of bound-in Insert.
1. Glued in line during perfect binding (insert must be same size as the main product).
2. Stitched in line during saddle stitching (insert will be knocked to head or foot).
3. Glued along the spine to the front of a section prior to binding (suitable for single page flyers).
4. Glued to the front of a section during stitching (suitable for product cards, peel-off inserts, etc.).
5. Glued to cover of the product after binding (cover-mounting) (suitable for CDs, disks, sachets, etc.).
6. Glued in by hand (suitable for bookmarks, bellybands and inserts too flimsy for mechanised application). Loose Inserting - up to five products can be mechanically inserted in one pass. Regional variations can be catered for in bound-in or loose inserting.

PUNCHING
Available for bound or cut products. A wide range of drilling heads.

PACKAGING
Individual polythene wrapping, with clear or pre-printed polythene, for products up to 400 x 315 x 35mm. Shrink-wrapping for products or bundles of products up to 500 x 450 x 350mm. Strapping, Boxing and Palletising - UK or Euro pallets. Security Packing for Air Freight. Cushionwrap.

LABELS
Data for 'Presstream' mailing put through Mailsort Software for correct label sequencing. Cheshire labels printed from your subscription database ready for mailing. Alternatively these labels can be applied direct to your product on envelope or polythene by inkjet. Shrink-wrapping for products or bundles of products up to 500 x 450 x 350mm. Subscriber database management available from our Publishing Department. Remember that we can print your carrier sheets and reader service cards and hold these in stock ready for your mailing requirements.

MAILING AND DESPATCH
'Presstream' sortation and final bag mailing to Post Office requirements. Sortation and docketing to Deutsche Post AG requirements. Deliveries and Messenger Service to our customers throughout the South-East. Freight arranged throughout the UK and western Europe. By prior agreement we can hold a limited quantity of finished products in storage ready for call-off by you.
